Seriousness of the efficient workman. 4.26.13

Do not talk about giftedness, inborn talents! One can name great men of all kinds who were very little gifted. They acquired greatness, became "geniuses" (as we put it), through qualities the lack of which no one who knew what they were would boast of: they all possessed that seriousness of the efficient workman which first learns to construct the parts properly before it ventures to fashion a great whole: they allowed themselves time for it, because they took more pleasure in making the little, secondary things well than in the effect of a dazzling whole. -Nietzsche

Genius is nothing more than the innate, divine qualities that make a person uniquely gifted. In God’s infinite glory He creates the "individual", each person with their own specific skills, passions and experiences none of which are duplicated in all of creation. We each have an ordained genius…a unique role, a tailored purpose and specific calling in life. The great adventure of life is in discovering, unpacking and developing that genius in relationship with God. Action. My sons, with the seriousness of the efficient workman, prayerfully and contently search out and pursue your unique genius and calling. Refuse to compare to others for you are one of kind…to better know your created design; better know your Creator God. The blessed man governs his day as a called man…loving and finding deeper satisfaction and joy in the proper construction of the parts than the fashioning a great whole. The dazzling whole of man’s life only happens thru proper daily construction of the parts…find joy in the parts and blessing and satisfaction will be yours to enjoy.
