Afraid of being the fool. 10.17.12

But God said to him, ‘Fool! This night your soul is required of you, and the things you have prepared, whose will they be?’ So is the one who lays up treasure for himself and is not rich toward God." (Luke 12:20, 21 ESV)

"…my greatest fear should not be fear of failure, but the fear of actually investing my entire life in something that does not really matter." – Simmons III, the true measure of a man.

Imagine being the man who invests his whole life into that which he thinks is of supreme importance, only to find out in the end he’s missed everything completely. The world having all but passed him by forgetting his accomplishments and achievements…revealing him the fool. This gets at the core nature and deceitfulness of pride…deceiving men to invest their finite resource of time in shallow, prideful expressions of life, while being bankrupt in issues of their soul and relationships. Action. My sons, be fearful in life of playing the fool. Your pride and the world will tell you life is good…while at the same your soul can be bankrupt distracted from sweet, blessed relationships with God, family and friends. Be wise, pursue that which God defines as the greatest value…for your pride will leave you holding the bag in life, revealing you the fool.
