For the wise, life is a 24/7 sermon. 6.24.11 & 9.7.12

I took a long look and pondered what I saw, the fields preached me a sermon and I listened… -proverbs 24:32

This verse from the Message translation speaks of Solomon’s observations of the lazy man and the condition of his fields, but also sheds great light on the thought process of a wise man. They say there are really two ways to learn; through your own life experiences or the keen observation and application of the life experiences of others. The first being very costly and timely yet super effective, the later far easier and more efficient yet typically not as effective given our failure to listen, always thinking we’re the exception. For the wise man, life is a real time, 24/7 parable supplying vast amounts of data speaking to and supporting God’s written Word. Like the man above, the wise allow life to preach to them while more importantly listening and responding…while the fool may even see the lesson but stubbornly refuses to listen. Action. My sons, watch and study people and life for they are real-time parables giving keen insight and discernment into Gods intended design, helping you more wisely navigate all aspects of life. Wisdom can greatly accelerate your learning curve in life if you are wise and attentive enough to let it.
