Speech gives evidence of heart. 1.15.11 & 8.21.12

The words of the godly encourage many, but fools are destroyed by their lack of common sense. The mouth of the godly person gives wise advice, but the tongue that deceives will be cut off.
The lips of the godly speak helpful words, but the mouth of the wicked speaks perverse words.
Proverbs 10:21, 31-32

It is impossible to gauge fully peoples hearts and motives, yet our speech is the truest by product of our heart condition. A Godly man’s speech is encouraging, helpful and wise…while the fool’s speech lacks common sense, deceives and is perverse as described in the verses above. A wise man is instructed in proverbs to measure his words carefully speaking little and listening much…studying well those around him. Action. My sons, your life will daily require you to make assessments of peoples motives and character whether with friends, business or life in general…so study well their speech…for it will give you private glimpses of their heart. Notice for example…How many times a person says I, me, mine in their day to day speech for an authentic humble heart has difficulty coexisting with such words. In Gods infinite wisdom there are many more examples, so listen carefully to how both we ourselves and others speak giving evidence of our heart condition.
