Why mark out a path? 4.5.11 & 8.1.12

Look straight ahead, and fix your eyes on what lies before you.Mark out a straight path for your feet; stay on the safe path.
Don’t get sidetracked; keep your feet from following evil. Proverbs 4:25-27

This aspect of advanced decision making and setting goals are big components of God honoring living, in that they keep us on the right path of obedience helping keep our feet from following evil. Marking out God honoring paths establish the filter by which daily decisions are weighed and evaluated. Those things that bring us closer to the God honoring goals are green lighted and the ones that do not or distract are red lighted. What we end up with is purposeful intentional living…the daily aligning of time and resources in the bringing about of Gods intended purposes for the different areas of our lives. Action. My sons, routinely set aside time to look ahead, prayerfully marking out the path ahead…so as not to be sidetracked along the way. Godly men are pro-visionary men…providing for those around them by looking ahead and keeping those around them free from reactionary living.
