Be an encourager. 1.17.11 & 7.12.12

Worry weighs a person down; an encouraging word cheers a person up. Proverbs 12: 25

One of the greatest truths is knowing that each person we encounter on a daily basis is carrying unique burdens, whether evident or not…because life can be hard on us all. Given that truth, we as believers have hundreds of opportunities a day to bring a fresh wind of hope into others lives, cheering them up. Whether it’s just a smile, an uplifting nickname or a speaking to of strengths, etc. The redeeming nature of the gospel can be applied in every human encounter, both creatively and authentically. This requires our heart being free and secure enough to truly desire the best for everyone we meet…reflecting the hopeful, loving character of God. Action. My sons, decide early in life to cultivate the habit of being an encourager, searching out how to strategically and authentically bless others in each human encounter. Not only will people receive hope, but you’ll discover that you’ll receive far more in return by enjoying the expanding blessing and fruitfulness of relationships how God originally designed them to flourish.
