Laziness, a condition of the heart. 3.13.12

Lazy people don’t even cook the game they catch,

but the diligent make use of everything they find. (Proverbs 12:27 NLT)

Laziness is defined as inactivity resulting from the dislike of work. Laziness like many other attitudes of the heart being a by product of our misunderstanding of God…call it a broken theology of God and work. God designed work to occupy and bless a mans life, being a main tool in cultivating Christ like character in the man. Laziness is a heart attitude that runs and hides from this process…thinking rest for the soul lies in inactivity not in right relationship with God. A lazy, unfaithful steward is fundamentally incapable of taking advantage of opportunities even if dropped in their lap…failing to cook the proverbial game they catch. While on the flip side the faithful, diligent steward always works to make proper use of the resources God has placed at his disposal. Action. My sons, your work ethic, whether diligent or lazy, is tied to your understanding of God and His design in work. Desire in your life to be faithful…for a faithful man is a diligent, industrious, resourceful man…seeking to make the most of what God has given him to work with.
