All are sinful and fall short. 4.20.11 & 4.28.12

Obviously, the law applies to those to whom it was given, for its purpose is to keep people from having excuses, and to show that the entire world is guilty before God. Romans 3:19

When the purpose of God’s word is forgotten, it can create a great burden in the Christian life. For the purpose of the law was to daily remind us that we fall short of God’s expectations…humbling us as we remember our need of a Savor. Pride can begin to distort our dependency, as we start getting our Christian lives in line feeling like we are obeying God and doing alright. The more we read the more we see a rule to obey, or a box to check….given enough time we become a mini-Pharisee. Pharisees sense no need for a savor just like a pagan, because they are doing all the right things. Action. My sons, I share this only to free you and help you see a tricky way Satan likes to steal our freedom in Christ. You are a sinner, so am I…this side of heaven that is our natural state. The daily reminders of sin point to our need of a Savior…rejoice in the good news of the gospel thanking God that He provided a way for us to be saved.
