Don’t worry!…instead pray. 12.5.11

Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus. (Philippians 4:6, 7 NLT)

What a priceless verse for how to respond to worry and anxiety in life. The lifelong process of santification involves changing our sinful tendencies. The presence of worry should not surprise us, but instead noting how long it take us to respond properly when we are anxious being the better litmus test of our maturity in Christ. This verse is great because it is very logical…at the first moment of worry; stop and pray…thank God for all he Has done and tell Him what you need. Both thanking and asking being critical in God answering our prayers by giving us divine context for our worries, reveling to us His wholeness and everything coming together for good. Divine context for our cares brings Gods peace into hearts and minds…further guarding us from anxiousness and worry. Action. My sons, this is far easier said then done as an outsider looking in, for worry affects the one who is lost in storms of life. Work hard to counteract worry the moment it shows up…it’s presence being the evidence of our need to pray. Do this everytime whether you feel like it or not and it will become a divine habit that will serve you well in life, cultivating peace among chaos and furher defining what it means to be a blessed man.
